Episode 140 – Robot balance and agility Claire Asher
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be hosting a panel discussion on humanoid robotics at the Poland 2.0 Summit in Amsterdam next month!
We’ll be discussing the current capabilities of humanoid robots, the ethical and social dimensions of their development, and when they might become part of our everyday lives – not only in laboratories or factories, but also in public spaces.
If you’d like to join the audience, you can register for the Poland 2.0 Summit here. The audio will also be released as a bonus episode of the podcast on Patreon later this year.
Panelists:
• Dr Krzysztof Adam Szczurek – Pioneers ML-powered human–robot teleoperation. His track record spans robotics R&D at ESA, CERN, and 1X, enabling safer remote operations across industries.
• Dr Ayse Kucukyilmaz – Associate Professor in Robotics at the University of Nottingham. Her research focuses on shared control, teleoperation, and human–robot collaboration in complex settings, such as nuclear remote handling. She has led interdisciplinary projects with industry and the arts, and is passionate about mentoring students to explore both the technical and societal impact of robotics.
• Dr Konrad Maj – Social psychologist and project lead of HumanTech Meetings. His research interests include new technologies (AI and the metaverse), social influence, innovation, and Human–Robot Interaction (HRI).
